Pastor David E. Wilson

David E. Wilson has been preaching since his early twenties and has been in pastoral ministry since 1985. He served under the leadership of Rev. Cecil Smith Sr. as an associate minister at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, one of the oldest African American churches in Dallas, TX for seven years. In 1985 Pastor Wilson founded Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church with only 5 members. Since then the congregation has grown rapidly and he continues to serve as pastor. 

Pastor Wilson is a native of Wichita, KS. He received a bachelor degree from the School of Theology from Bishop College, the birth place of many great African American ministers and community leaders in the United States. In 2008 Wilson received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas University School.

An effective and passionate preacher of God’s Word, Pastor Wilson is widely known for his relatable and dynamic teaching style which helps people apply the timeless truths of Scripture to their everyday lives. He has served on many special board in the city of Dallas and has been a chaplain for the Dallas Texas for a few years. Currently, Pastor Wilson serves at the president of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (IMA), one of the oldest minister association in Dallas, TX.

Since recently being elected as the president of the (IMA), Pastor Wilson has been very active in bridging the gaps between church and community. Born in the area of the Civil Rights Movement, he believes that the foundation of our community is the church. As president he is effectively working towards rebuilding the unity between the two. He recently organized over 400 churches across the state of Texas to come together and vote on Super Sunday during the 2018 midterm election. He even assisted with organizing the one the largest, most diverse town hall rally for the Beto Campaign, that was held at the only church Dr. Martin Luther King ever spoke at in the city of Dallas, Good Street Church

He and his wife, Vernita have been married since 1980. His wife serves as the minister of music at Greater Cornerstone Baptist Church. Pastor Wilson and First Lady Wilson are the proud parents of two adult children and grandparents of two grandchildren. Both daughters, Lola Wilson and Danita Wilson- Harris work alongside them in ministry.
